Ok, let's keep this thread serious ( although it was started by Juicy )
If someone new to the SEO work would decide to start working on getting SE traffic, wold it be better to make 2-3 sites and optimize them in the best way ( so that they are getting a few hundred uniques per day, if posible [?] ), or to start making tens and hundreds of pages and hope that each of them will get a few hits...

I would think a happy medium. Have as many main sites as you wish to manage and throw up a few keyword rich pages as you have the time, the trick being interlinking new to old and vice versa

Thanks for your reply.
All replies on GFY should be like that.
One SE philosophy is that each small individual site, properly optimized for SEs should generate a minimum of 5 SE hits per day. Now thats highly targeted SE traffic, and if put in context of an ever growing interlinked network of such sites, you can see how you could scale that up to tens of thousands of targeted SE hits per day.
Personally I am combining the above approach with one large central site full of optimized category sections...

nice post/idea.
Stay up-to-date on changes in algo, consistently network w/ individuals on different IPs while managing your own network, build build build build, optimize appropriately...don't be spammy, use your tags wisely, ensure layout is clean, pay attention to keyword density, target small and niche--> grow to broader keywords as network builds, and a zillion other things!

The 5 hits per day sites should be basically no content sites?

Good post.
I am still a medium master in SE's i still have plenty to learn but trial and error I am learning and the ROI on time spent and such is good. Just another arsenal of hits to use
If not why not? Got all your eggs in one basket? Diversify your traffic sources SE's are juicy.

Personally, I stopped worrying about SE traffic until I rebuild my website. However, when I want "good" placement it's never been a problem. I have a bag of "SE tricks".
One of the best tools I used - believe it or not - is LivePerson while doing SE optimization.
Basically, it's the ugly versus being found factor. You can have lots of traffic but they got to come into your site.
LivePerson helped with the tweaks and twitches necessary to optimize - THE - "SE optimized traffic". : )
For example, a graphic on every page entering my website is absolutely necessary. Changing the words "Parental Controls" to "Adult Controls" also increased traffic substantially - while still being "SE Optimized".
BTW, has anyone tried buying results on same niche pages with high google PR ? ( only for boosting se rankings, not for the actual traffic from these pages )....

Dark Jedi ?
You mean buying links from high PR pages and linking to something different?

Buying links to my site on several high PR sites. Not for the actual traffic from them, but to get better SE rankings.
I have heard some people are doing it.
SE´s are sometimes difficult to understand. I´ll give you an example: I built a site (fpa) and put it on a subdomain "streetblowjobs". Three month ago it was listed on msn on the first place. At the end of March it disappeared from msn. Don´t ask me why.
I have to admit that I´m not specialized on SEO and I just did a test. But I think it´s amazing that this happened without any changes on the site.

Yes, I have done it. There's a cottage industry of high PR places willing to sell their links but its kept on the DL for many sites. It's worked pretty nicely in the past too.

Juicy spams google too, or at least he used to. I know he had mainstream keywords pointing to adult sites
Of course so have I, but it was an accident
Actually the mainstream spam pages are gone now, I guess it's just the 404 to the main page. I dunno if all those kw's actually led to porn origionally

www.mcdonalds.com <- great money making opportunity

Of course, because after the update, someone had a better optimized page than you did.

That´s what I thought first, but it´s impossible. The listing appeared and disappeared on msn during it was listed there. Now the site isn´t listed any longer.
A few tips.. some obvious, but maybe some are not...
1) once you put something online and submit it leave it there, forever. The longer it is online the further up the SE ranks it moves.
2) if you don't know a SE inside out, then don't even bother trying to cheat/spam. You'll only get your hosts blacklisted.
3) Put some nice relevant keyword laden sentences on your apge and in your alt tags.
4) the actual domain name can rule the keyword. Especially in niche categories. For example, piss.com is going to beat our any site no matter how many times they have the word piss on their page.
5) patience is a virtue. Be smart. Build it. Submit it. Wait. Wait some more.
piss.com is nowhere to be found in the top results on Yahoo or Google for the keyword piss.

I dont know if it has to do with anything but piss.com redirect to xxxpizz.com ... even if the piss.com domain apear in the adress line... so the actual site looks to be on xxxpizz.com ...
What about using Alt Tags on images, for example on Thumbs does it do any good ? ím curious aswell to these things since my non adult sites get a fair anmount of SE traffic a day but with adult sites it seems to pretty hard to get a decent ranking

i was just using that as an example to demonstrate my point on having short keyword domain names.. I don't knoiw anything about "piss.com" itself.
