                          I know I'm gonna get flamed for this, especially since it's my first post here, lol, but here we go.

                          The only reason people care about the seals is because they are furry and cute. Nohahahaha cares about the depleting salmon species that the hoards of seals are eating every year. Why would we care about Salmon? They are slimey and gross.

                          Seriously, Canada has far too many seals to deal with. They have to kill some of them because they are out of control. And the pic on that site, paris hilton (club sandwhiches not seals) That bitch has more fur than any other human being alive! It seems pretty damn trendy to love seals nowdays.

                                  Seriously though, this is done for the same reasons there is hunting seasons for every other type of wild animal. It's just that killing seals looks extra bad because they sometimes use clubs so they don't have to waste bullets.

                                  If the dam things would run a bit faster we wouldn't be able to club them.

                                          But there is no reason to butcher them this way. And since the fur is in much less demand than 20 years ago, a clean shot to the hahahaha would be more appropriate.

Not like the hunters sick above them and savagely beat them for hours on end.                                                                                                       Well since I'm from Newfoundland I'd thought I'd say a few words, I don't agree with the seal hunts. I lost a lot of family on that big seal hunt disaster many years ago(Death On The Ice), and Newfoundlanders were put to shame when that amateur tape came out a few years back of the fisher persons (since we can no longer call them fishermen without the women lib causing a shit fit) getting caught clubing the seals in a very tortue like manner.
                                                                                                      Yes the seals are depleting fish stocks, but its not just the seals, we are no longer allowed to fish in the waters but the forginers are allowed to come in and fish the cod and nothing is being said to them.

                                                                                                      Very touching subject here in Newfoundland.

                                                                                                          People are bitching about the fish population but I don't see seals with mile wide trawlers. Their natural predators were bears, Killer Whales and sharks. But we shot all the bears, fished all the sharks and the killer whales are kinda scarce too.

                                                                                                          Had we not stepped in and fucked things up in the first place there wouldn't be a seal population problem as there is.

                                                                                                          Fish have many predators but we're the worst. We need to address the overfishing of the oceans to maintain a balance. If we adopted a more responsible global fishing program the oceans would be full of fish in 3 years.
