That's true. This man that my grandmother worked with got throat cancer from smoking and after a ton of radiation he was in remission (or so they thought). One night he and his girlfriend were asleep and she woke up suddenly (something just jerked her out of her sleep but she didn't know what) and she looked at him and his neck was the size of a basketball and he wasn't moving. She called 911 but he was dead before the paramedics arrived. The autopsy showed that the cancer had come back and spread through his neck and it ate through his artery and that the artery finally burst and he bled out into his neck. There used to be a site called cutoffmyfeet.com or something where a guy was going to cut off his feet on pay-per-view, but he never did it. He was a cripple but the government health service wouldn't amputate his legs and give him prosthetics like he wanted.
