When asked about the potential uses of a new Israeli product that is identical to spider webs but these are created in a laboratory.... Fishing rods? All those magnificent uses and fishing rods? That is funny...

Potential industrial uses for the manufactured web -- which has a diameter of one-thousandth of a millimeter -- include surgical thread, bullet-proof vests, micro-conductors, optical fibers and fishing rods.

Maybe they can make a super thin, very protecting condom out of it.

It is about time they come up with something better than the condom. I hate using those things but what choice to I have besides getting a girlfriend that I can trust...

this alone illustrates what so many learned on Sept 9/11

human life is NOT worth as much as capitalism.

after the first plane hit, workers in other building and elsewhere were told to remain at work stations and continue working.

if human life was worth more than capitalism, imagine how many lives could have been saved that day.

your link proves this so much.

they will make so much selling this stuff and not helping man in any way.

We have some rods that are $200+ each...

My wife fishes in Bass tournaments...

Another practical use for this could be golf clubs I bet...

As far as I know chest wounds arent the problem its the limbs that many soldiers are losing. The current flak jakets are working, better body armor for the limbs I think would be a better idea. The fabric doesnt have to stop the bullet or shrapnel completely but at least keep their arms and legs intact.
