Hi Again,

Should I be cropping them ouy of full size pics or reducing full size pics down? If anyone can help, post it here or ICQ me... Maybe you'll help others too... That is what this board is all about, I think?

Crop the area out, then re<a></a>size to 88x88, then use the sharpen filter, then save for web, as a jpg, somewhere between 70 and 80% compression...try to keep it below 5kb.

Hi Thanks,

I have been setting the crop to in Photoshop to 88 x 88 and resoluting to 180. and croping the portion out of a full size pic. Maybe I need to sharpen it like he said. My file sizes are coming out at about 24K

Don't save the profile information it will decrease the file size dramatically

I have our thumbs guy use curves, adjustments,and sharpen edges to get them just right.

photoshop can certainly do this.

but if you are doing many thousands of thumbs you need something faster:

Because you need a res of 72 not 180. There is your problem.
