These guys are also part of the Skunk Records Family Collective and blow SS away.. Personal friends of mine, so I know they would love to play for a super special low guarantee.
Another option would be Jin tha MC An upcoming Chinese rapper on Ruff Ryders who is getting a lot of hype.. Again, I've worked with him and know his manager well. You could get him for a deal.

I'm sure Cybernet will be fun, but the real reason I'm doing this party is because it's in San Diego and we're about to launch a monthly Players Ball at Canes on Saturday nights.. The perfect time to get some good local hype is right after I can fill a room. Then the locals talk and come back a month later.
I hope Faye doesn't mind we're doing one, we never coordinated being an official party at Cybernet. I figured it's a good service for the webmasters in town and it helps me launch another business in their local market.
We have other trade shows we're about to throw these at as well, outside of our industry.

I'd do Long Beach Dub Allstars again, but they broke up.
Slightly Stupid sounds just like Sublime, great talented group.
Or I could bring back Fishbone again, they're a fun party band.
As for funk groups, always a possibility. I prefer to go with big name talent and not local bands though.
Maybe we'll mix in a DJ like DJ Whoo Kidd, DJ Jam (Snoop's DJ), DJ Vlad or Lantern, Mix Master Mike, or whoever fits the bill for the right price.
I've never thrown a Players Ball in S.D. and would really love to do one there.
I'll make the sponsorship pricing really cheap and have a bunch of sponsors this time.

we have some committments already that are impressive and the fact that this will be a big story here locally makes it even better for a paysite or sex toy company to get additional exposure I already have some press coming and local radio will be all over this because it's a private party- however if the place clears out a bit at midnight or so- hell I think we'd charge something at the door-
As always these parties are hardly ever money makers, they are great exposure for companies who want to be known in our industry
