I was over in the desert in Saudi Arabia for 6 mths and saw those things all over the place. The myth is that they climb onto your face and inject you with a toxin that numbs a soft part of your face such as your ear or nose and then proceed to chew said hahahaha part off while you sleep.
Cool story to tell the newbies that rotate in, but actually a load of BS.
They are mean as fuck though and love to chase you around. I had a couple chase me up a ladder one day. Got to the top and started dropping shit on them. Motherfuckers are touch. We caught one once and dipped it in Liquid Oxygen. Crawled around for a few seconds and broke open and took a while to die. We had an aquarium that we would drop a camel spider and scorpion into pretty much every day (never took us long to find them). Camel spider won most of the time.
If you look closely at the pic it is actually 2 camel spiders hanging together and the pic is a closeup (look at the hand to the right). Each of those is probably only 3 inches long, about the same size as a tarantula.ICQ: 52410619Comment

god bless those guys out there facing these spiders everyday, no wonder the us army found dickhead himself in that hole he was living in, he fuckin saw one of those spiders and said "fuck this" and gave himself up! I would.
I have never been scared by a spider, for example, one has never crawled up my arm or fell on my face, but whenever i see one my heart starts beating and i shit myself
i always pic up tiny ones that you find around the house though, chase my sister 
lol. But if she came back with a big one i would foookin shit myself and run like hell... she doesnt know that i am scared of em though. i am getting shivers writing about it

this was the largest tarantula i've seen. when we first set it on her it raced to her throat. learned later that they had no idea if it was docile or not. they just picked it up minutes before the shoot. it kept covering it's eyes from the flash of the strobes.Comment
