They already have her on a couple of things she said in her private meetings as compared to actual paper records stating what actually happened. lol Let's wait and see how well she lies out of that before calling her the smartest.

Who do you think is more qualified to run the world... Condeoleezza or Kerry?
Who do you think is more qualified to run the world...
I wouldn't trust her to run my errands. ;-)
There are times when you have to make a call on the lesser of two evils. We did it when Carter was elected (yep I was old enough even then to vote)
I won't go in to the rest of it. It would fall on deaf ears in 99.9% of the cases. Y'all have fun being repubs, especially when they blow the dust off that lottery machine for the draft. lol Oh wait! They *already* DID clean that puppy up a few months ago. ;-)
What was that wayyy back? oh yeah, 18-26 yrs old get dropped in the bucket. Bet they up that to 28 or possibly even 30. They need an AWFUL lot of boots to put on the ground. And self employed will be high priority to go in the first waves. lol

The draft? I dont think you would have the draft that most old timers remember. The draft is being done everyday in the courtrooms of the US.
Some republicans did what you are talking about when the Clinton - Dole race was run. Dole wasn't qualified to run the country and Clinton wasn't going to get beat. Dole was just thrown up there so the rebuplicans wouldn't waste a candidate on the election.
This is what I belive the dem are doing with Kerry. I've got faith in one thing that is going to bury Kerry before the election.
Hillary!!!!!!!
Self employed people worring about the draft.
If kerry is elected, self employed people will be looking for a draft just to get a paycheck.
We were having 'lottery parties' starting in 10th grade for our friends that were turning 18 and about to graduate... alot of them got to go see the World via Viet Nam.
So don't get the cart before the horse. I know full well about the draft lotto.
And yeppers, several months back one of the Senators on one of the Sunday morn news shows ansered the question about the draft lottery. Yes they HAVE cleaned up the very machines they used for Nam. And were testing it to see if they should update the thing.
Just FYI, the military pretty much completely QUIT accepting kids that were in trouble and opted to the military to get out f it. ;-) Odds are THAT will be put on the side over the next year or so when they start running out of kids.

I appreciate the service you and your friends did in the war on behalf of our country.
But, you are wrong about the troubled kids. That program has turned around many lives. It is a strong "recruiting" source. I personally know people who have served in the last few years and have come out better. They were headed down the wrong road.
Ahh! They must have reinstated accepting kids in trouble. I know for quite a few years they didn't take them anymore.
And my old man served, *I* personally didn't. Never had the desire to be a nurse. And thats all women were allowed to do other than clerk. Trust me, the guys were better off that *I* did NOT go do nursing. lol

Yep, a lot of the guys benefitted from getting slammed in to the military. Back in the 70's and early 80's they were pretty forceful about it. When I danced we had quite a few worthless guys coming in, then some would disappear and show up a few years later, and they had been thru the 'program' so to speak and were pretty nice guys compared to what they had been.

Originally posted by FunForOne I got a good friend that about 6 years ago ended up with three options.
1) Going to Prison, not jail, Prison
2) Getting killed on the street
3) Joining the military.
He took number 3, they gave him dicipline among other things. He is out now and has a great job and family and is enjoying life.
Yeah I certainly wouldn't disagree that the military can do good things for some people. Looking at your friend's options it certainly looks like the best path for him to have taken.
She came out of that potential shit storm smelling like roses. As everyone should know, it wasn't her decision not to testify in the first place. But she came out strong, dashing the hopes of liberal pussies desperately seeking ammo everywhere. Good job Condie !
