    What the fuck is wrong with companies these days

    We currently have the high-speed internet and phone service from Cox. So I call today to inquire about also getting their Digital Cable TV service. Their service adds up to about $60 a month, including the DVR and some 200 channels. Ok. I tell her that the reason I'm calling is because I want to switch from Dish Network, and would greatly appreciate if she could offer me any incentives and special offers. She's like... "the only promotion I can give you is free Starz channel for a month". And I'm thinking to myself (and later saying it to her) - that $60x12 = $720 in service fees for a year, and those fuckers can't give up one month of service to acquire an additional customer? I told her - it's either a free month or I walk away. How stupid can companies be.

    It's only because they hire defensive assholes to handle calls.

      damn, when I lived in Socal Cox was known for giving away free shit!

      I called in once to defer a payment and ended up getting 3 months of free HBO that would NOT automatically turn into paid after the 3 months was over.

      They did shit like that all the time, you just got a bitch on the phone!

          I tried twice already... Both reps pretty much said $660 a year from me is not enough for them. GREEDY ASSHOLES

                                      Not true. This is pure greed. By not having me they not only not get paid - they even lose more money since I called sales 3 times already and wasted about 15 minutes of their reps' time. By giving me a free month they'd make $660 instead of $720 that a normal sucker customer pays.
