What the fuck is wrong with companies these days
We currently have the high-speed internet and phone service from Cox. So I call today to inquire about also getting their Digital Cable TV service. Their service adds up to about $60 a month, including the DVR and some 200 channels. Ok. I tell her that the reason I'm calling is because I want to switch from Dish Network, and would greatly appreciate if she could offer me any incentives and special offers. She's like... "the only promotion I can give you is free Starz channel for a month". And I'm thinking to myself (and later saying it to her) - that $60x12 = $720 in service fees for a year, and those fuckers can't give up one month of service to acquire an additional customer? I told her - it's either a free month or I walk away. How stupid can companies be.
It's only because they hire defensive assholes to handle calls.
