                                                      A Pentagon source has said up to 130 US troops have been killed in fierce fighting in Iraq.

                                                      The large scale battle, described as "intense", has taken place in the town of Ar Ramadi, 20 miles west of Fallujah.


                                                      Sky News' David Chater said: "None of this is official yet - none of it is confirmed."

                                                      But he added: "It sounds very much like this is being carried out by men who are militarily trained."

                                                      Chater described the attack as "highly sophisticated".

( it can work - BUT it's damn unreliable and depending on which way the wind blows you may end up in a very bad place )

                                                                                                                                                                                                  I'd like to see something more being done peacefully ( strongly address some of the causes for the hate - eg; palestine? regardless of political fallout ) to stop the cycle of matyrdom that exists as i think that could complement if not replace current methods of waging a 'war on terror'.

                                                                                                                                                                                                      True, there was never really any other way to handle this situation other then to go to war and take the consequences of that. I guess we could of gave the U.N another decade to try to get Hussein to comply. But who knows what Hussein would of done in the mean time. It wasn't like he just wanted to build a peaceful thriving nation. He was into defying the U.N and figuring ways to destroy Israel and the West. Also, what would of happened had any of his sons got power. I can't even imagine the loss of life if that would of happened.
