Damn good idea at that. I bet many RIAA members are now wishing THEY came up with the iTunes idea right after the whole Napster drama.

though i'm sure the quality sucks, and the selection is even worse..

your average stripped dvd is 4+gigs for a DVD image..

converted to DivX about 700 Megs, and the DivX playback quality on my TV is pretty damn good.. (I usually can fit 5-6 full DivX rips on a single DVD-R depending on movie length)

Still, 700 megs.. might be too scary for people..

then again.. aside from us nerds, how many people have DivX capable hardware DVD players?

and who the hell wants to watch a movie on a PC?

and if it's too compressed... would you pay to watch a shitty compressed dvd?
