LOS ANGELES ? Adult Sites Against Child Pornography announced a change to its advisory council Monday with the departure of Gary Kremen, owner of Sex.com. Kremen has been on the panel since November 2002.
Joan Irvine, ASACP's executive director, told XBiz that Kremen's decision to step down from the council was due to personal reasons.
The ASACP advisory council has seven seats and each member serves a two-year term.
"Gary Kremen has contributed considerable time, energy and financial support to ASACP since 2002," Irvine told XBiz. "He was instrumental in its growth and the development of the advisory council. I appreciate his support and working with him over the last two years."
Irvine also announced that advisory council member Aly Drummond, formerly with Python and now a marketing executive for Adult Video News, has also stepped down.
Irvine clarified that the reason for Drummond's departure from the board was due to a policy that only allows one person per company to participate in ASACP's board of directors. AVN Editor Tom Hymes is currently a board member.
?ASACP wishes to thank Aly for her dedication to ASACP since the beginning of the AC and for always promoting ASACP," Irvine said. "She will be missed, but she promised she will continue to promote ASACP both personally and on AlyTV."
ASACP is actively seeking to fill the two available spots on the council. Potential candidates must be current ASACP sponsors in order to qualify.
Kremen was not available for comment at the time of this posting.
