Question On Optimizing My Site For Smell
Quote:
Internet Users Can Download Fragrances
POSTED: 6:59 am EST December 8, 2004
TOKYO -- You can already download sights and sounds on the Internet. Now a Japanese company is working on a system where you can get fragrances, too.
The device works by controlling the valves on a machine hooked up to an air compressor and tubes linked to vials of fragrant oils. A device that looks like a crystal ball, which links to the machine, blows a gust of fragrance through a straw-like nozzle for 15 seconds. A test version keyed to horoscope signs spritzes out scents ranging from rose petals to mint.
For now, the machine handles only a limited combination of smells.
The company has sold a few of devices to stores at $1 million yen, or about $9,700. But it's hoping to develop smaller and cheaper versions for the home. And it thinks the idea might work for sampling flavors in food shops and restaurants.

Should I spray perfume like they do at the mall or subtlely release cooking smells like the restaurants? wink
