I used to like watching Renzo wrestle.
Royce was good but I think Renzo was better slipping around on an opponent from a defensive mode into an offensive mode.
Every single Renzo match I watched Renzo would go down to the ground with a competitor on top and then in a flash would be behind them on their back punching them in the back of the head....LOL
Now Royce on the other hand seemed to be better on the submissions. He would go down and let the competitor get on top of him....he would then slowly work his way to a point where he would have the guy in an arm or leg bar, or about to snap his ankle and then the fight would be over.
Now Ralph, i never saw too many of his fights. I don't think he was as good as his brothers tho'.
It's been awhile.
My interest in the Gracie bros began years ago way back before there was a ufc and you could order videos of their street fights out of the back of Karate magazines.
Hell I even made an attempt to join their school in Torrance back in '89 but there was a damn long waiting list.
When the First UFC came on the scene needless to say I had "free" cable...lol...and was just scanning the chanels when I came across it on ppv.
I at first thought it was another bullshit WWF type program...but as I watched I realized the shit was for real....I was hooked from then on.
I taped everyone of those mother fuckers and showed every friend that came over.
But alas cable couldn't be free forever...LOL and all those lawmakers started making it harder for them to find a venue to fight in.
Needless to say i lost contact with my beloved sport, and occasionaly will catch up in old rentles at Blockbuster
