    Price me.

Take a look at my portfolio. Then post your prices for banners, buttons, paysite tours, gallery templates, ect. Just from what you see there now. Ill add more later. Be a critic.

You should know if you charge too little if you have a constant flow of work, or you charge too much if you don't - OR you don't advertise enough or well enough, which if it's not done well enough people will probably expect you not to be able to make sellable banners/sites.

I haven't looked at your stuff recently. Just commenting.

Oh, and do I get something free for bumping/commenting?

    Cheers,
    Matt

Not at all. Ive done paysites for more than that, and less than that. So I guess you hit the average.

                    Any other comments?

Maybe for some bigger pages or longer tours a bit more but honestly i wouldnt charge much more than that. Not that your stuff is really bad or anything, there are just better designers out there who do more professional work for just a bit more.

Ive had clients that love my work more than anything else, believe it or not. I dont claim to be a master designer, but it
mostly depends on the taste of the clients. Take a look at
http://avscash.biz/sites.php . I did all of those paysites, and to
you they look like crap. Not so good. But to that guy I did them
for. They were worth alot $. Why? 1) his taste. 2) 7 of them
reached ars's top converting byot about a year ago.

Alright, im going to shutup, im really not trying to spam.

Pixel your question is a tough one bro.

Pricing work is well never easy. Basically gauge your skills and your style your self.

Was making something for someone worth your time and there time?

As designer ya never really know the true results of your work for your clients but it is safe to say that people that return to your services are

                                        A: Happy with your work
B: Had results with your work that were positive.
C: Delivered to them satisfactorily in time.

I guess best thing to charge is not necessarily what everyone elswe charges. You should charge what you are comfortable with.

More work that comes in is always a good thing but then again you goto find ways to measure your effort with each client and how well you give them the attention they desire.
If you have to raise prices thats always a good thing it cuts the shit down for you so that you do not exceed your capacity.

Pay attention to the grades of clients that come to you. Do you deal with cheap asses? If so maybe your not charging enough to keep em away.

Ya kinda get what I am saying?

Thats basically what I do now. But alot of my clients want hourly rates, that, I have a really hard time gauging.

Than take a look at your pricing now and look what time it takes to finish a project. So if a paysite cost you 5 hours and you get paid $500 for it that would be $100/hour

Can be pretty simple but I guess this isn't working for all projects. Good luck

If you do hourly rates you goto still make it worth your time.

I charge an hourly rate of $82.00 an hour and tend to charge by project. I've read some books about running design business and I would highly reccomend that you do the same.

The problem with design business is pricing and there is a saying "Ya get what you pay for" it especially applies to design. There are design companies out there that look at a client with a straight up face and say, "Yeah we can do this for $20,000 and thats without our inhouse marteketing and branding services".

Art is simply priceless and it shows in todays modern creative works in media that there are serious companies out there that bid serious money to serious companies and the reality of it is simple. If they sucked they could never charge what they do for there services.

Value your work for your time and the results of your work to your clients. Good work that improves bottom line for clients is really the goal of the game and trust in the fact they will pay any price for your services within the bounds of what they can afford and view as an acceptable cost for the production effort.

                                                        Actually yeah.

Cameron S. Foote "The Creative Business Guide to Running a Graphic Design Business"

                                                        Ya might wanna pick up
Tad Crawford and Eva Doman Bruck "Business and Legal Forms for Graphic Designers"

Thats a good one cuz it goes through negotiation check lists. After reading some of this material ya might see the light that Adult Design is really not worth your time. I have a few good adult clients but there are better industries out there willing to pay what your worth and not go on the "cheap"

The few Adult companies out there willing to pay your worth are few and far between. Ya would think with all the said money that flies around this business ya would not have to be scrambling with em over $20.00 banners.
Pitch them bottom feeders and raise your prices if you must.
