                the most fascinating thing though is that a pound of feathers weighs more than both the pound of ice and water.

                            Water weighs 62.416 pounds per cubic foot at 32°F, the freezing point and 61.998 pounds per cubic foot at 100°F. So it would be pretty close but with a highly sensitive scale the ice would weigh more.
