I do the same thing.

When I'm designing or coding I listen to classical. If I'm doing anything else then I generally listen to the pop shit that's on the local popular radio station. I'm really into getting my music force fed to me (and I'm not bullshitting either). Everyone makes fun of me all of the time at the office.

Some of my favourite working music is a band called Circulatory System. They sound exactly like what would happen if you took the Beatles and made them all outer-space style. It's remarkably relaxing, yet has moments of glorious melodic balance... Truly inspired work, that inspires ME to work.
