    Guards at California Youth Authority beat youth prisoners on video...

    Guards at California Youth Authority beat youth prisoners on video and they will not be prosecuted. WTF?! They just showed the videos on our local news and the one gurad looks like he hits one of the kids 50 times... the article says it was 28 times. Does anyone know where to find the video online?

    The quote that angers me... when speaking on why they won't prosecute the guards:

    "I believe the counselors were defending themselves," said David Darchuk, president of the institution's union chapter, after viewing the video.

    He noted the video does not show the beginning of the incident in the office, where internal investigators say one of the youths started the fight by punching Brown in the nose, breaking it and causing substantial bleeding."

    This only gives the guard the right to take the kid to the ground and cuff him and lock him in solitaire then press charges... NOT to pummel the kid like there was no tomorrow.

    Oh yeah, the whole time another guard was macing the kids while they got beat.


    Anyone seeing the video would agree that these guards need to go to prison. The one that hit the most was on top of the kids BACK while the kid was laying on his stomache trying to cover his head, and every single punch landed SOLID and HARD... no misses at all. Holy fuck they need to go to jail.

                                  Why is it that people always believe the media's "cut" version of the video? It's not that hard to understand that the media's main goal is to stir controversy to draw viewers. Honestly, it that SO damn hard for some of you drama queens to understand?

                                      unless you've actually seen the 'cut' version for yourself, you really shouldn't comment. Even if the kid punched the guard in the fucking throat in the part that got edited out, it doesn not allow, nor justify him to do what the 'cut' version showed.

Unless you're actually at the SCENE of the incident, YOU shouldn't really comment on what the intent of the guard was based on a video that the media releases. The CYA holds the worst of the worst kids in California. This isn't your typical Juvi.

                                                      I know exactly what CYA is, I spent 2.5 years there from 15 to 18.

                                                      In the time it toook him to hit the kid 25 of the 28 times he could have cuffed him 10 times over. He was not punching him to keep the kid from punching him... the kid was on his stomache, covering his head.

                                                              I saw the video, the kid was curled up in a ball on the floor, the guy was on top of him, punching away

                                                              the kid was not resisting at all, he was trying to cover his face. He was obviously subdued and the guy punched him another 20 times or so, just for sport I guess

                                                                  I highly doubt that you even seen the outside of CYA if this incident comes as a shock to you. Everytime there's a fight in petty Juvi, kids are on the brink of getting their arms broken by the "hold" and you're sitting here crying foul when a guard hits the kid?

                                                                                              There is a "school" for "problem children" from the US in this country. The kids were literally abused to the extent the place was raided by the police and child welfare org. They were not fed, subjected to walking the equivalent of 100 miles round a "punishment yard", injected with shit to shut them up, threatened when "outsiders" visited, could not raise their heads upright in "classrooms", beaten up by the "assistants" - the list of "offences" was something like 150. Hell.. they even injected them with stuff to incapacitate them when investigators wanted to take statements.

                                                                                              That shithouse was closed down and official complaints passed to the US Embassy and also to UN Human Rights people for action. The US owners are sitting in a jail cell awaiting trial here because the authorities want em firmly locked up and not relying on US laws.
