            Donovan, Gary exact actions in blocking you from ASACP is only a side part of the issue. If i go to sex.com and serch for "TEEN KARMA" or "TEENKARMA" I get the default search page (with napster of porn and others). I search for lightspeed, and I get ONLY the link to ASACP. Obviously, while Gary feels (in your words) that Teen Karma is a bad site, he still doesn't actively filter the term like he filters out the Lightspeed stuff.

            That isn't consistancy, that is done with intent. What image it leaves the public with is fairly obvous.

            the ASACP situation is just as bad: If all your models are 18, if your paperwork is in line, and you are legal, then they should have no issue with you. By having the organization that supposedly represents the online industry refuse you membership because they question your content could lead to the government making the same assumption. In a very real way, they have basically said "we are not sure about this donovan guy", because if they were sure, they would allow you to be a member and to support the cause.

            Using subjective rather than objective rules to approve or disapprove membership to what should be one of the most important organizations in the business is, IMHO, a flawed way of selecting those that are worthy.

            I hope that Joan now takes the time to look at the situation that has been created, and move to a more subjective approach so that membership in this organization can be encouraged, not discouraged.

                        As Gary mentioned earlier, this has been happening for more than 2 years and Steve is only seeing it right now. Obviously there aren't many people searching for his sites on sex.com or he would have heard about it long ago. So chill already.

                        Steve and Gary hate each other. Gary usually "gets one over" on Steve more than Steve does Gary. It looks like Steve finally got something with some meat to it that he can use against Gary. It's gone 4 pages already.

                        Congratulations, Steve.

                                                                    That is the case here. If there was a way to prove it I would be willing to bet money that no one has come to the conclusion that Lightspeed runs pedo sites because of the sex.com search results.

                                                                    Has anyone here come to that conclusion from those results? Anyone? Anyone? Neither have the surfers. I'd also be willing to bet the average surfer is of higher intelligence than most of today's adult webmasters.

                                                                                The ISSUE here is that Gary did something extremely juvenile, and given his position on the board of ASACP, people assumed that ASACP either knew of, or even condoned, his actions.

                                                                                This is not the case. I have spoken with Joan about this issue PRIOR to any of this coming up. Not the sex.com results, but the animosity between Gary and Steve, and how it produces a negative effect on ASACP with Gary sitting on the board and giving people the impression that his actions are either sanctioned or appreciated by ASACP.

                                                                                IMO, Gary owes some apologies. Steve, Joan and ASACP, as well as the webmaster community at large, and he should apologize for being a juvenile ass.

                                                                                            I've always been a big fan and supporter of the ASACP, but after reading this thread I started to have serious questions about their agenda and whether or not it was the right organization and/or people in charge to do the job they claim to do.

                                                                                            This post helped me believe that some respected members of our community have the same concerns, as well as the ear of those in question.

                                                                                            Hopefully an adjustment to the situation will be made, or the ASACP is in danger of losing alot of credibility in the eyes of the very sites they claim to represent.

                                                                                                                                                                    What is important behind this thread is Gary's systemmatic association of lightspeed related keywords with child pornography. Gary could simply have returned no results or the default search results but he purposely grouped these searches with the same results you would get for a CP related search.

So much so, that I have asked Gary to associate search terms of one of my sites with the same result that Steve's sites receive.
