any other database players in the house

just a quick question if you havent seen it then dont worry about it

i have a friend with an access 97 database with a vb frontend that he uses to version control his source code written by a third party

on a fresh install of xp sp2 barebones and this program installed immediately after the program throws a 2004 out of memory error

ive tried to msdn it but that fact that 2004 is a fairly recent year finding any pertinent information proves to be a daunting task

so on the off chance you guys have seen it or something similiar yodel at me

is it written in vb5 or 6?
      Are the msaccess drivers updated?
      If so reinstall msaccess 97

        the frontend is 6

xp sp2 runs mdac 2.8 by default

access 97 doesnt really need to be installed as this vb program interfaces with the database directly its not an mde or anything

he had it working on his other laptop and then he bought the new dell xps or whatever and its giving him these problems

the other laptop was upgraded to sp2 and it seems to work fine so its kind of hard to pinpoint the exact problem

sounds like an dll problem wich should be solved by removing and reinstalling access 97
