                                                                                                                                                              Cuban Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque has denied an claim made by a U.S. State Department official that the island nation is developing biological weapons.
                                                                                                                                                              Speaking to reporters Wednesday, Mr. Perez Roque said the charges made by Undersecretary for Arms Control and International Security John Bolton were completely false. He accused Mr. Bolton "of suffering from schizophrenia" and of trying to justify a future U.S. attack against Cuba.

                                                                                                                                                              In a statement to Congress earlier this week, Mr. Bolton said there is strong evidence Cuba is in the developmental stages of a biological weapons program. He described the nation as a terrorist threat to the United States.

                                                                                                                                                              Mr. Bolton made similar allegations in 2002, shortly before a visit to the island by former U.S. President Jimmy Carter. Mr. Carter later disputed the claim after visiting Havana's Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology.

President Bush is attempting to defeat real and/or percieved enemies of the USA. If the President were about ethnic cleansing...he could have used our military might to do so. The administration has been very subdued in its military response in Afganistan and in Iraq.
