there is no way I think, I installed a bunch of spam filters but they are worthless for an adult webmaster, because we receive from time to time e-mails with words "hardcore, sex, adult...etc..." that is not spam, but filters removes them...Originally posted by SleazyDream

Client side filtering is about the only option in dealing with spam that wont cause problems for people trying to mail you legitimate stuff.
I hear what you're saying about filters, but thats mostly because some come preprogrammed with lists that would include keywords that dont really fit with the adult webmaster line of work.
The kind of filter that you train with real junk e-mails, so it learns what YOUR real email and junk keywords are would probably work quite well, possibly too much hassle though.Comment

I'm getting like 7,000 spams a day now. This is how I deal:
1. I change my email address every 6 months. I keep the current email address and the last email address in my "inbox" filter. filter all email that does not match one of those addresses to the spam bin.
2. Presort to trash anything with subjects containing "viagra" etc. Presort to Inbox any opt-in email I subscribed to.
3. Presort to trash any email address I no longer use.
4. No mailto: links on the site. Use a script that keeps the e off the HTML. This script emails to it's own special address which is filtered to Inbox. This catches ALL new business very well.
I'm sure I lose something once in a while, but it is very effective. Check with your host they may offer SpamAssassin and/or email filtering which will allow you to discard the SPAM or send it to SPAM box for later review. Works great and I don't need to buy any other software. I can even set my email filters to delete them too.Comment

Hey,
Easy trick; many spammers have a do-not-send list of keywords they exclude because they don't want to send spam to anti-spam companies. Including the word nospam in your email address such as [email protected] will cut a lot of the spam. Programs like SpamArrest is the next best thing as well and local server versions are available/around.
