Don "The Predator" Frye just defeated Ken Shamrock by decision over in Japan. They compete in PRIDE

PRIDE has nastier rules (they can knee an opponent in the head when he's down), and is always a real good PPV

Frye looks good, I hope he gets another shot at Mark Coleman(he fights in PRIDE, too)

That fighting style has been outlawed by almost every sanctioning body. It is just too dangerous.

When you take away the rules of boxing... and allow clinching, knee strikes, takedowns, wrestling and submission locks...Tyson would be WAY out of his game.

I just got back from Vegas a day late, and had to stay over in *UGH!* Salt Lake City.

The show was awesome, and I was in the front row sitting next to Frank Shamrock the entire time. The ring card girls were awesome, and they all want me.

I was surprised Hughes handled Sakuri so easily

and Barnett got Randy down and didn't let him up. I was hoping the ref would let the round end, 25 seconds left. Maybe Barnett would have been gassed? But Coture is classy, he didn't bitch at all. Unlike fucking Newton, who won't shut up.

Machine, were you the dude in the white shirt with glasses who yelled that Hughes was going to drop Sakuri on his head and knock him out? That was the only gy in a white t-shirt I noticed, even though I was trying to spot ya.

You missed the TV commentary by Rico Rodriguez
He thinks he's the greatest thing since sliced bread, that guy's head is huge. I liked him before that show, but his arrogance just put me off.

Sometimes these figths are like watching grass grow . When they get on the ground it gets extremely boring. they should set a time limit on how long they get to stay on the ground. In Some of the fights out of Japan they do brake them up, and start from standing.

That wasnt me with the glasses. I was sitting next to Frank Shamrock. I watched the tape and the only time I was on camera was from a far away shot. Kinda sucked.

The Gracies sold their share of the UFC, they werent asked to leave. At least make up better stories.

Royce has fought 3 times since the UFC. He got choked out by Wallid Ismael, fought a boring fight against Fatty Takada, and had his leg broken by Sakuraba who makes a living at beating the fuck out of the Gracies.

I used to like watching Renzo wrestle.

Royce was good but I think Renzo was better slipping around on an opponent from a defensive mode into an offensive mode.

Every single Renzo match I watched Renzo would go down to the ground with a competitor on top and then in a flash would be behind them on their back punching them in the back of the head....LOL

Now Royce on the other hand seemed to be better on the submissions. He would go down and let the competitor get on top of him....he would then slowly work his way to a point where he would have the guy in an arm or leg bar, or about to snap his ankle and then the fight would be over.

Now Ralph, i never saw too many of his fights. I don't think he was as good as his brothers tho'.

It's been awhile.

My interest in the Gracie bros began years ago way back before there was a ufc and you could order videos of their street fights out of the back of Karate magazines.

Hell I even made an attempt to join their school in Torrance back in '89 but there was a damn long waiting list.

When the First UFC came on the scene needless to say I had "free" cable...lol...and was just scanning the chanels when I came across it on ppv.

I at first thought it was another bullshit WWF type program...but as I watched I realized the shit was for real....I was hooked from then on.

I taped everyone of those mother fuckers and showed every friend that came over.

But alas cable couldn't be free forever...LOL and all those lawmakers started making it harder for them to find a venue to fight in.

Needless to say i lost contact with my beloved sport, and occasionaly will catch up in old rentles at Blockbuster

Steve.... Royce and Bas should both be fighting in Pride's Middleweight tourny in september. I talked to Frank and he is being pretty sketchy on his return. I dont expect him back anytime soon.

I get alot of secret news about Frank cause my best friend is one of his fighters (Ryan Bow from Shooto in Japan) and he gives me the latest news. If I get anything on his return I will let you know ASAP.
