I had swiss account and i'm not refering it to you. Their politic is stupid. All they want is to have money on account, they hate out transfers. They will call you and ask why are you making transfers. They gonna ask you where the money comes from. Now i'm using offshore, http://www.loyalbank.com is very nice

Every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday in September PussyCash will pay you a $100 FOR EVERY IMLIVE SIGN-UP you refer

lemme guess where you come from? do you think entering the EU makes latvia better at all?

its still a 3rd world country and always will
along with the 10 or 15 other ones entering

now where are the reasons you wanted to show me?? the one you gave me is not enough - no lol
why would a people with a brain bigger than a peanut want to put their money into your country? and why has switzerland gone so bad?
i still have friends living there and i go meet them regulary. i know quite a lot about their system ... i guess i know why billions and billions of euros from all over europe are placed there...

Actually, Latvia isnt a very good alternative, entering the EU and all.

I´d recommend (and yes, I have got experience) Barclays/Singers/Lloyds/SC in the Isle of man.

Besides, Swiss accounts aren´t what they used to be...

Why do you want a company to open an account for you? Almost all swiss bankwebsites has a page in english. Follow the "open bankaccount" link and you are on your way.

                                  BigPinPin:

You don't need any "consultants" or companies to open bank accounts. It's the same as opening a bank account where you stay - it costs nothing.

I'd agree with AlexSharp on the "status" of using Switzerland as a banking jurisdiction. Places like Latvia are much better.

It may also be worth mentioning that stuff about Latvia joining the EU is 99.9% irrelevant in relation to banking. Latvia has no intention of dumping it's banking laws and the millions of $$'s in earnings because it happens to join the EU. This may be something that will come into play at some future time tho.

It is also relevant that if you are resident within the EU, it may be better to consider banking outside that region.

I'd smell the main criteria for "anything" to do with corps and banking is - stay the hell out of any high tax regime country - that includes the US, Canada and the majority of EU countries.

Also.. think you said it :-) None of the above is viable for US citizens.

i speak german..i understand what they want:

ubs requires a permanent minimum balance of 100.000$ ..... I dont have just like this 100k to get a stupid bank account. This is written in their pdf files what they send you with the required document request...

                                          I am not fro Latvia.
I am actually from Italy even if I don't live there anymore.

The fact is that entering the E.U. should be at least a guarantee that the country has got some potentials and it's economical and political situation is stable.

Anyway i could read on the newspaper every day... Italian politicians stealing millions from the governent and hiding them in Swiss Bank account... guess what ... those money are now all back.

One more thing... I tried to transwer around 100.000 euros to a swiss bank 2 years ago and I got them back to the transferring bank as there was not a so clear justification. And believe me the owner of the swiss account was a swiss company with a swiss president.

I tried with another swiss bank and the same happen.

I must admit I was lucky on my third attempt when I transferred the money to a Swiss Postal Account.

Anyway i take this "discussion" with you as a way to improve my knowledge not a fight as I don't really have time to fight about this.

Ok take care 1orglaugh for now. I appreciate your questions and your suggestions.

As you probably don't know all EU states will share account information from 2005 execpt for the secrecy states Austria, Luxembourg and Belgium.

For now we have an US Inc. in Delaware
We are located on the canary islands...now we need also a bank account...our taxes we would pay in spain of course BUT ...it needs fucking loong to open here on this island a bank account for an us inc and i get from ailcorp no information, where we could get a US Bank account and how.....fast as possible...thats all.
Mmm.. first, any US corp is useless for anything except the possibility of using US processors (but that's another long story that anyone who is not resident in the US needs like they need leprosy.)

Second.. you hit the Euro jusisdiction (by the Canaries). You need advice and a look at all "possibilities" on this - it ain't a 10 second decision :-)

I'd be inclined to look at a corp in possibly the Caribbean or maybe Portugal with bank accounts *anywhere* that suits - they could be in Latvia, but I'd be more inclined to keep em outside the EU. It may be relevant from a processor side to have a legal entity within the EU (ie a non-resident corp in Portugal).

The comments about places like Cayman are invalid - these places are not offshores any longer.

The use of corps and banking does not mean anything to do with "hiding money" :-) Tis just common sense organisation of a business if the controllers reside in a jurisdiction which legally entitles them to act via the use of other jurisdications.

All that stuff is not relevant unless there is tax fraud within the EU. Banks are not going to open accounts up with no "evidence" presented to courts of any crimes or frauds - standard practice.

Eg... I have not problem using Latvia since it is irrelevant who "shares" information about me. But.. I'd be jumping up and down if some asshole bank decided to chat with the world without a court order :-)

If u need a colplete view of offshore possibilities have a look at this:

                                                      http://www.global-money.com

They are just brokers so damn expensive for the services.

If you interested in something particualr that u find in there then do a specific research on google.

                                                      Good luck...

The new auditing rules coming in to "combat terrorism" are dramatically changing the landscape for previously safe banking zones like Switzerland. The ability to track money internationally is improving a lot too.

It reestablished its independence in 1991 following the breakup of the Soviet Union. Although the last Russian troops left in 1994, the status of the Russian minority (some 30% of the population) remains of concern to Moscow. Latvia continues to revamp its economy for eventual integration into various Western European political and economic institutions and was invited to join NATO and the EU in 2002.

The majority of companies, banks, and real estate have been privatized, although the state still holds sizable stakes in a few large enterprises. Latvia officially joined the World Trade Organization in February 1999. Preparing for EU membership continues as a top foreign policy goal. The current account and internal government deficits remain major concerns, but the government's efforts to increase efficiency in revenue collection may lessen the budget deficit.
