Wait till all you guys see the NEW penthouse, it is quite a shock (at least to me) I was lucky enough to have gotten a pre release copy and i was amazed at the changes (this is the first issue that guccione didnt publish, i think marc bell has his hands full with this one) Only had 3 nude pictorials, there was no spreadshoots, and it was quite boring. It did have tons of car articles in it, and personally it looks like maxim with a few nude photos in it. Im extremely disappointed, i think marc bell could have done better with it. Id love to here what everyone else has to say about it when they get to look it over.Comment

Penthouse ain't over. I've been talking to the new owner for the past couple of weeks - BIG money and BIG changes on the way.
And yup, it's going much more softcore, they'll show pink but that's it. Pets will become contract employees of Penthouse.
And moving into hardcore video in a big way as well.
Most of the old photogs are OUT - nobody wants 1980's style glamour photography in 2005.
And don't doubt they'll get it done, the new owners Marc Bell and Dan Stanton have a track record of success.I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. I've saved money, my hair is thicker, lost some weight too! Thanks Sly!Comment

The magazine is in transition - that pre-release copy you got will be nothing like what Penthouse looks like 9 months from now. Guccione just got old - he was a micro manager especially when it came to the photo content - wouldn't let that go and it showed. Hefner the same really but at least he gave his daughter who was fairly young control. Guccione needed to find some young blood to keep up with the times but he didn't.Originally posted by DomBuyer

Do you know what Windows Media Player was called before it became WMP? Netshow. Marc Bell's company developed it. He knows how to make money and turn around companies in distress. Turning around Penthouse is a major challenge, have no clue if it can be done but these guys are gonnna give it a real shot and spend the money to do it.
