    Playing Grand Theft Auto 3!! Need Help!!

    OKay what do I need to do to get to the other islands???


    Also I keep getting this green number with a green shield like symbol next to my orange life number. It's under my money. What is that???

      The shield is your armor... works the same way as health.

      To get to the other islands you have to basically finish all the missions on the first island... the last mission you do will involve you going to the new island.

          Keep completing missions. You'll eventually get to cross islands. If I remember right, you need to assassinate one of the mafia bosses.

                      Btw you can find a complete guide to 100% completion of the game here: http://www.oddweb.net/gta4/gta4/default.asp it would be kind of impossible to find all of the 100 hidden packages by yourself

                                          Cool. I love collecting the guns. I am still on the first island, obviously, and I can't get past the mission Joey gives on killing the Chinese guy. I just found a machine gun so I am going to try that.

                                                      From what I remember, the mob boss is gonna set you up to be killed but that Maria girl is gonna call you to warn you. That's when you run off with her and meet Azuka on the next island. I believe that's the last Salvatore's mission (the big mafia boss with the nice house).

                                                      I think this is right before one of the harder missions called Bomb Da Base Part I and II.

                                                                                      LOL, he only changes clothes in GTA 4 I think. In fact, the guy doesn't even talk once in the whole game in GTA 3.

                                                                                      If you're on that mission where you're trying to kill the chinese guy, the trick was to block off his exit. Basically putting a car that's about to blow up near his exit path and as he makes a run for it towards the car, you blow up the car with your gun and it'll kill him at the same time.

                                                                                                  Wait until you go to the next island and discover all these better cars. The cheetah, stinger, all fast sports cars. I think there's one fast car hidden inside 8-balls garage (the guy who'll help you bomb the boat mission). Wait until the first island bridge opens (there's 3 islands in total) and there's a super jump on it that makes the whole game go in slow motion when you hit it. There's another really cool jump place by Joey's if I remember. Or at least the J is what it was on the map.

                                                                                                          I think if you collect all 100 hidden packages, the Apache helecopter (equipped w/ machine gun and rockets) will become available in the army base. You will need to use the sea plane to get it though. The sea plane is behind my porn studio at the dock. You'll get to that in the later missions.

If you like frying people with the molotov cocktails, there's one mission where you have to use a flame thrower and raze up 25 chinese people in chinatown. Now that's fun!

                                                                                                                                      Yeah I just got the flame thrower on top of the radio station. The one where you have to run the train tracks to get it. I can't wait to use that.

                                                                                                                                      I also just crashed a car into car dealership and stole a car that looks like a cobra or a viper, not sure which. Saved that car so when I drive away with the girl Maria to the other island I can go in style.

                                                                                                                                              on the 2nd island, don't go crazy buying loads of M16 and bazooka stuff ... you'll need $500K later on ...

                                                                                                                                              i was almost broke when i needed that money (i did have alot of fun though hehe), had to drive the taxi for hours and hours to make money, that was only fun the first 2 hours LOL
