Originally posted by Trixxxia I personally like the 'KRL' character because of the quality of the posts he makes. The way he portrays himself online commands respect - whether he has $1 or $1billion dollars has very little importance to me because it doesn't put money in my bank account. The topics/discussions he starts and the advice he gives however, are of importance to me because I have the feeling that along with the acquired class and tact, he's also acquired the knowledge & experience - and that, my friends, is worth to me, more than all the money in the bank that he may be enjoying.
i for one have yet to see krl really acting like hes hot shit... so i dont understand the hard on that several of you have for him... either way, i could care less... the birds are chirping and its time to pass out

But i share the same passion for this place as you do so who knows..;)
KRL is my favorite board character and I respect him more than all other posters on this board ( I don't want to name any, but by saying "all" I mean all ).
There must be a reason for that.
Sure, I am almost noone in this biz, but i am also sure that I am not the only one who who feels that way about KRL.

Quite au contraire - I read the information, take what I need and put the rest in the back of my head (in case I need it in the future) - I've met some of the world's best minds - one-on-one I pick their brains until I exhaust them - on the board, I have to settle for the information that he & others offer.
I've never done well with people telling me what to do - how to do it - or when to do it, so a Guru, to me, he is not.
The point I was trying to get across, in case some of you missed it, was that it's not because he may have money, that we (or at least, I) read him or that he gets high views to his posts. It's because he generally doesn't use the board to:
1) argue with himself
2) tell the women what hot meat they are missing
3) tell the rest of the world they are worthless if they can't run with his crowd
4) offend the entire world and the surrounding planets to spam his shit
He does/is:
1) bring us up to par with the latest newsbreaks (along with sarah_webinc)
2) give some insight on decision-making in this business
3) a good 'web' conversationalist
4) a compliment to this board

Thanks Trix. I'm a simple person. Like being low key, quiet and keep to myself.
I've been fortunate to have a lot of media on things I've done which is ironic cause I'm a shy type, not the podium kind of personality.
The funny thing is I wanted to keep that domain acquisition totally quiet until everything was in place for what I'm doing with it, but word got out and I had to deal with all the lame notoriety from it as a result.

Mr. T, you seem to be degrading the importance of GFY as THE Central Networking Hub for the online adult industry. I'm an information junkie. If you want to know the complete happenings of this industry you can find no better place that I know of then here on GFY.
Also these sheep as you unfairly call them are going to be my affiliates very soon. To compete in the affiliate arena you need to have relationships with a lot of webmasters and their trust and respect. I think I've done a good job over the past year establishing that here. You can't do that overnight. Its takes a lot of effort and time to build a following.
You think I cut a deal for a million bucks for a domain without a grand plan conceived many moons ago? A lot of people here are going to be a big part of the next several phases. I've invested my time here for a reason. A BIG reason.

The thing is, KRL, if you're too quiet - you're a nobody
When you tell them what you do or what you've done - you're a bullshitter.
You post proof - you got skillz in Photoshop. hehe
You're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't.
Personally, I just like reading what you have to say. If your trials and turbulations or directions for your success story can help me today or tomorrow, that's good enough for me. You come off as an all-around smart man with good values - whether it's a persona or not, doesn't really matter because what you say makes sense.
All the best!

I must be one of the few people on GFY to meet Kevin (KRL) face-to-face. I met him a few years ago at a webmaster dinner (same one I met PhotoGregg at). Over time our paths have crossed and he's let me know what he's working on.
He's also told me who he's been working with and some of them are people I know (like MikeW at WyldeSites.com) who've confirmed what KRL has told me about his business.
So the deal for men.com didn't surpise me that much, other then the idea of Webfather selling any of his domains at all. And I know KRL will make it work.
So I know that KRL is what his posting personality claims, a very bright, succesfull businessman with lot's of vision.
