Yes, you can improve the efficiency of an "inifficient pipe" but "pimpshost" is implying they have been able to get faster speeds using cogent than anyone else using cogent, even faster than using Qwest and AT&T (obviously, one assumes that he is talking about properly configured Qwest and AT&T connections).

or maybe by "we are faster than ever!" and "we added some equipment and did some nifty networking to get faster throughput..." he just means that they had inefficient configurations before and have improved them, NOI.
i dont think he was implying that, I think he made some tweeks to his setup to help improve his speed, and wanted to show people that Cogent in general isnt bad like most people think...

I am a convert... It is GREAT for TGP traffic.... Low overhead, perfect!
