    Is the "bidding" thing for sigs starting to wear off?

    To be honest.

    I was REALLY looking forward to that "sig broker" thing because personally, I think the whole "bidding" thing is wearing out. Bidders are tired of having to dig through threads looking for bids etc,...

    Id rather just have someone say ok, 1k, you got it and stop there... but its gotta be drawn out for 2 days and I think some are not into the "bidding" too much anymore.

    just my take, as I have been selling my sig for a few months now and can ALREADY see the difference in how people are.

    hell, I didnt even stick around for sig market last night and left instead...

          I agree, and wonder why someone would ever pay anything over 5K myself.... hell you can have a whole booth at some of the smaller shows for that, for an entire weekend....


          I do not believe anybody has actually been paid more than $2,500 for their sig..... all the rest is made up I believe.... cause even somebody with money to burn is not gonna just keep trowing money away...

                                                  I don't usually even promote stuff on my own account. Last night I looked in on the sig sale forum for the first time and just to see what would happen, made a post.

                                                  My price seemed way too high compared to what others were asking, but I figured that if I was going to have to give up some time every day and make more from it than slinging burgers...

                                                  I was surprised to wake up this morning to two offers. The best was only a bit more than half what I asked for, but still unexpected. Since it was my first try, I have no idea how the results compare to what I might have got before. I would expect the market to be softer this month, if only because it's a Saturday.

                                                                              But I KNOW for a FACT!, straight from the horses mouth, that at least some of the sigs that were purportedly sold for insane amounts..... were just like the scripted drama that takes place here in order for some to claim their fame from.....

                                                                              No wonder the smart ones continually call the morons sheep....

I am refering to the people that come on and say they got over $2,500.00 I call bullshit....and if not let both partys involved the seller, and the buyer come forth and prove it by showing the transaction on the date of sale... and any other answear is not believable if the person is unwilling to prove it....


                                                                                                          shit somebody pays me $2,500.00 or more for my sig... I will post the proof the same day... and let the haters take notes...

                                                                                                              Except for rare cases, buyers are realizing they are not making money by paying someone $500 for a 1500 - 2500 post sig no matter who they are.

                                                                                                                          There are a handful of posters that it might make sense for some sponsors to lock in. And it could be worthwhile for a new/less well known sponsor that people might not promote freely, to buy some space. But several sponsors have been paying for space they would likely have got anyway...

                                                                                                                          Then too, pay per impression rates, which I guess are driving the realistic prices, are nice for people who post regularly anyway: more reliable than referer payments. But no way are they enough to be worth spending extra time on the boards to earn. At least they shouldn't be...
