    Here is the deal...
    I wrote a message on this board last night about trading pics or a sig for a good camera because mine sux and I have seen plenty of girls ask for stuff on this board over the past year.... then I went to bed... My husband wrote FOR ME in the rest of the threads and I just woke up to read it..

    I am sitting here crying right now.. some of your really hurt my feelings.. I was just asking about a trade.. I did not think that people would put me down and talk mean about me, insult me and make me freakin cry!!!!!
    I honestly thought more of the people on this board.... I never ever would have even posted anything if I thought that people would be mean and ugly and insulting to me.. I feel so terrible.

    My feelings are really hurt and just so everyone knows.. I will take my name off of the Miss GFY contest and I will not post here anymore.. I am sorry that everyone does not like me that much.. My feelings are really hurt. I had no idea that I had done anything to anyone on this board but I do see now that some of you treat people like shit and try to hurt their feelings.. well congrats.. I never get upset like this and I am just bawling over being called ugly and more or less stupid.. :-(((

    I will not post on GFY anymore .. even though you really have a great message board.. I honestly think that people should have a little more respect for women on this board.

    I cant belive some of you were so mean..

                              not just guys girls too (yes I give ppl a hard time too, not often , but I admit I do)

                              the board IS called gofuckyourself - and I guess it sort of gives you an idea of what to expect when you come here

                              don't worry too much about what anyone says here - half the time it's just keyboard warriors and most ppl here arent that bad -they just use the board as an excuse to vent coz they haven't got anywhere else to do it.

                                          Place is called go fuck yourself, so it kinda comes with that attitude.

                                          Also, look at those that are slamming you,.....normally they are just professional posters....they don't even own their own site...just have a referring link in their sig.....they just sit here all day long and post....just because they have a high post count doesn't mean they are anyone in the business....they just spend a ton of time posting, while the rest of us actually work and build businesses and lives worth having.

                                          Don't take any of this personally too...myself and friends of mine here in philly have had fun over the last year years....some of these big alter ego's seem tough and big online...then when we find the fucker at one of the shows, it ends up being this little pimpled face dweeb. All I can say...don't fuck with philly. lol.

                                                                              First, let me say welcome to GFY - I see they have baptized you
                                                                              KRL pretty much summed it up by advising that here, they attack first and ask questions later.

                                                                              Let me tell you a little about what the problem was -
                                                                              Women generally hear about this forum from other sources and see it as a good opportunity to make a grand entrance - true in most cases, not here. The first thing you must do when entering GFY for the first time is - get a nick, but read for about 1-3 weeks until you have a feel of these 'colorful' characters. See how they treat the 'newbies' when they come in with a 'splash' - your tactic has to be opposite to that. Come in quietly and post when you feel comfortable - and never, ever ask for something you haven't worked your ass for.

                                                                              BTW, as for your camera - start a quality thread which will get good responses & be the thread of the day, and you'll get a nice camera from GFY (in about 2-3 weeks).

                                                                              Please don't take offense and don't waste any tears on a board insults! It's your child's birthday - enjoy that blessing today!

Your hubby seemed to fight right back with them, and when that happens...expect it to get worse. But again, I didn't think it was that bad.

                                                                                                                                      April, I lurked on GFY for months before getting the gumption up to actually post for that very reason. It's taken me a year to thicken my skin, and I still get hurt by some of the comments, but I try not to show it. It's part of the fun of the board, watching other people get flamed, but eventually those flames will turn their attention on you, no matter how nice and sweet and lovable your adorable self may be. The trick is not to take it too serioulsy, because if you do, then that's just too bad for your own piece of mind and it attracts the haters like blood in the water. Just look up any flame war thread.

                                                                                                                                      Here's a quick GFY summary:
                                                                                                                                      beautiful women get flamed for dying their hair, getting implants, tanning, not tanning, posting pictures (attention whore), not posting pictures (tease, too shy), bad picture quality, not knowing obscure site development trivia

                                                                                                                                      talented designers get flamed for charging too much, doing too simple designs, doing too fancy designs, not guaranteeing sales from their designs

                                                                                                                                      talented photographers get flamed for posting too many pictures (spamming), not posting enough pictures (selfish), bad photo quality, ugly models, sexing up the models, not sexing up the models

                                                                                                                                      post whores get flamed for whoring, for sporting an unfashionable sig, for not posting if they're been absent

                                                                                                                                      successful business people get flamed for starting in mainstream (infiltrator), moving to mainstream (selling out), retiring too early (showoff), not retiring yet (obviously not that successful), trying to give advice, not giving enough advice

Trading is equivalent to selling in the sig market. Your individual name hasn't been registered for the prescribed duration of time. And you don't have that many posts under your belt that would earn you a 300$+ sale for your signature.
