I use rackspace as well. SUre, its expensive, but these are different ball games. The minute my site goes down, I start loosing money like you wouldn't beleive. Not only revenue, but money that I need to cover for affiliates as well. An hour can easily add up to a few K, and more on peak times.
Rackspace has its place, I have used them for 2 years and have nothing but praise for them. I can call anytime, and get someone who is basicly good enough to help me through any issues I am having. So far this year, I have had 10 mins of downtime, beacause someone forgot to start the MySQL server on a migration machine (moving from redhat 9 - ES)
