    German Police Raid 300 Homes of Anti-Semite Music Swappers



    WIESBADEN, Germany - German police swooped on more than 300 homes across the country to smash an Internet ring trading neo-Nazi and racist songs.

    The federal crime office (BKA) said it had opened probes against 342 suspects in 15 of Germany's 16 states believed to be involved in trading songs online with banned lyrics.

    In the early-morning raids of 333 apartments, police seized computers and CDs.

    "Incitement to racial hatred is not a trifle," BKA president Joerg Ziercke said, adding that skinhead music allowed neo-Nazis to make inroads with German youth.

    "Young people are being targeted and brought into the world of anti-Semitism and hatred of foreigners."

    The BKA said that after concerts, the Internet was the most important medium for spreading far-right music, particularly via online music swap sites.

    In 2001, German police staged raids on more than 100 apartments of suspects believed to be trading neo-Nazi music on the Web site Napster (news - web sites) and confiscated computers and disks.

                                                                          Child porn is also not covered by freedom of speech laws. And it would be a weak excuse to say 'i just wanted to see what its all about'. I think it's a similar issue that is as sensitive.

                                                                                              i live in a part of germany where at least about 5% of the people tend to be openly neo-nazis. and i think up to 10 or 15% more think the same way but don't show it.

                                                                                              try to walk around here as a black, asian or jewish guy at night, i will not be surprised if you were beaten up by some nazis. it happend several times - for nothing.

                                                                                              my personal opinion is that these fuckheads belong to jail. no discussion.

If it was any other country I would be totally against such actions by the police. But then again, I don't see what good it'd do to arrest them, it'll only make them feel oppressed and increase there devotion to the cause.

                                                                                                                                                  if you travel to cities like munich, hamburg or berlin it would not be that much.

                                                                                                                                                  but for example: 2 years ago in hamburg, which is normally a very liberal city, nearly 20% voted for a party which had some very nationalistic thoughts.

                                                                                                                                                  but it is no german specialty - also france, italy or denmark have up to 20% votes for parties like that

It is true that there is a increasing level of violence against aliens but that has nothing to do with Nazi beliefs. More with typical german stubborness and violent stupidity. Ok, there is also a rational reason: The high rate of violent crimes commited by foreign juveniles.

We do not go around and "beat up" people, and I consider myself and my friends considerate people who long for better ideals than those of the day. For myself, I long for a new type of democracy which allows the population to have their direct say in all issues (doable with current tech), and where the peoples of the earth all have their fair share of sovereign land along with a recognized right to exist and rule themselves.
