I was thinking of entering the Miss GFY contest

NOT. For the time it would take to be in the Miss GFY, I'll make way more than $19,000 doing what I always do. So to you Miss GFY ladies, drop the contest ( it won't be fair anyway) and work your businesses. I know you'll end up with more to show for it.

Let's say working on Miss GFY took 5 hours total throughout the competition, use that 5 hours to negotiate cheaper hosting, learn a new web development tool, catch up on your QuickBooks entries, rollover your IRA's, try a new sponsor, find the best rewards points credit cards, refinance your mortgage, open a medical savings account or any of the millions of ways to bring guaranteed returns instead of working on the chance of winning Miss GFY.

I spend just a few hours a week on GFY. Sewing your own actually costs more. Have you priced good fabric, buttons and thread lately? That's just like my garden. I end up paying 15 times the cost per lb. of anyhting I grow versus the grocer.

For me personally its ALL a game. Do i care who the panel of judges are NO. I can care less who they are. Its a contest, it will not it benfit me in any shape or form.
As far doing it for the money.Yes to a certain extent, and if i dont win oh well no biggie. It least i gave it a shot, and will continue to live comfortably (and no im not talent).
Also who wouldnt want the prizes invovled??? Thats what makes it appealing. And for the ladies who are doing this because they are desperately in need of the $$$ well good luck to them
