        Theu are the best for boxed email.

        Reliable but some people don't likeclicking to link to initiate the email.

            http://www.spampal.org - its free and works great. It filters out atleast 95% of the 1000 pieces of spam i get each day.

                Two reasons folks don't like to click ...

                1. Is a hassle to click links

                2. Security / privacy reasons

                And there's another problem with challenge/response services ... if both sender and receiver, who have never corresponded before via email, are using such a challenge/response service, how will the challenge response get through? Answer, it likely won't ... especially if each is using a different challenge/response service that doesn't have the other in its white list.

                        I use Thunderbird too.. its VERY rare that spam makes it to my inbox.

                              spamarest is expensive, spamcease ( see sig) is a server version and you can add unlimited pop accounts
