oh yeah good luck! I was friends with a guy that was bringing truckloads over the border and then jacking the prices to about 400 a unit.. He was making killer money because he was paying like 30 per unit in the states..Originally posted by NaughtyJenn

I ordered DirecTV here in San Jose, CA. It's not installed yet, but I'm already unhappy with it. Customer services is bunch of retards, so are the techs.Comment

They must have changed their ways when things started to get shut down. At one time they made you sign a form saying that the product was for export purposes only.Comment

You cant drive down and get them anymore, as they dont sell the cards in the recievers anyomre, that is what people just wanted.
You can try on ebay though.Comment

what i think i might end up having to do is drive down there, get the dish and receiver.. and buy a card off ebay... damn this has become alot more complicated compaired to 2 years ago

I dont think it's that simple, you'll need to know how to re-program the card if it gets hashed, and pay for scripts.Comment

It has to be activated in the states, your friend who buys it, will be stuck in a monthly plan and direct tv will come to there house to install the dish... They have figured out everything to QUASH piracy in canada.. Thats why the systems are worth there weight in gold now.Comment

Jenn, well since DTV is illegal to sell in canada you are gonna have to drive over the border or do the ebay thing.
