The US is in debt to more countries than are in the alphabet - including China. China is currently issuing loans to the US in the vague hope they may be repaid on the due date :-)um... what?
When you consider one year ago 94% of all household assets in the US was the total debt owing to other nations and that situation has got worse in the last twelve months - I doubt this is a nation that has one hope in hell of going to war with anyone, despite all the hardware :-)XXX TLD's - Another mosquito to swat.Comment

I think you need to read the actual stuff that is published by the US Treasury - not some upbeat BS from the lying, deceitful Admin.
Last year's Treasury Report was the most extensive ever produced and "supposed" to be included in the budget last year. Needless to say Bush hid it and Greenspan complained, but was told to shut up. So many here seem to be blind to the fact that the US is in debt up to it's ears. Just read a few financial reports to see the debt.
And if the US owes the Chinese so much, think about how much they owe the Arabs.

At this point each countries economy depends partly on the other.... the fact that China has much stock in US bonds ECT. shows how interlinked our economies are. Thats part of the problem. Both counties can kick the other where it hurts and makes an escalation to a nuclear exchange a very real possibility.
We do rely on the MANY MANY purchases china makes from us (including OIL.... they have the fasted growing demand)
