She says she doesn't want anything...Originally posted by exspamr
you should be happy until you find out how much of your money shes gonna getComment

There are usually two ways that it goes - if you are extremely happy the minute she leaves, you'll be miserable a few months down the line. If you are miserable when she leaves, you generally come to the realization that it was the best decision within a few months and good things start to happen again. This, always taking into consideration that you don't get back together.
If you decide on divorce - you'll be 10 steps ahead when you realize that to master the game, you must not allow her to bring you into an emotional confrontation - that's what divorcing couples want/need - (the separation has left them dry of confrontation with you) So, if she calls and starts screaming & yelling - tell her you are not interested in arguing, stick to the point of the call and do not allow her to get you in a screaming match. Once you master that - you'll feel so much better and you may actually begin to like eachother again.
Don't blame her for anything - take responsibility for your actions don't through blame on her and since it's over, there is no need to bring any of that up again. You'll get your things settled in court when the time comes.
Ok that's my 'Dear Trixxxia' of the day.......Ciao :-)

If she says that - please be smart and don't argue with her - be sweet but firm - don't throw things in her face about the past and it will all settle smoothly. If you piss her off or throw things in her face, she'll just want revenge and make you miserable.Originally posted by SKULL

I think you should just ask yourself.. are you happier now? if so it was for the best. Doesn't mean you guys can't still be friends.

you may be one of the lucky ones... i hope thats true, i only know one person who had a good divorce... my old boss married young and only stayed married for a few years before the divorce, he had no kids and probably not a lot of money so shit was extremely simple... anyway i wouldnt hold your breath, she might say that now but once her friends and family get in her ear you might have some problems... hopefully not though... good luckOriginally posted by SKULL

Don't fight her on that one, take the deal and run. Be polite, say nice things, but the less you say the better. get it behind you ASAP, before she changes her mind on wanting stuff!Originally posted by SKULL

You will get over this. and in the end be happier. why be withsomeone that doesn't want to be with you anyway.
Ditto the hooker. Get drunk if you need to - don't call her in that state. Get drunk everynight for a month if you have too.
I was married to an attorney, you can appreciate my point of view!! Sued for more money that there is.Comment

Are you married? Or ever? ppl we marry are our best friends and lovers. Once one is gone - you every hear when an old married couple are together and one dies - the other shortly goes there after.Originally posted by Mcarlsen

yeah and OLD couple... people who were married back before the divorce rate was 60%... ive known a lot of married people and i cant think of a single couple that was truely happy... the rare few were marginally content which is great, the rest were just stickin it out for the kids / fear of getting assfucked in divorce court and living in fear.Originally posted by roxyk9

It's just some kind of mixed emotions. She's always by your side
and you're used to it. A little sad coz you're used to her presence
but some day, things will work out just fine.

Just realized that she posts here too. SKULL - when you're together 24 hours in a day, it's not easy to 'stand' eachother. Time away from eachother usually helps - don't say things you'll regret. You mentioned you felt like you lost your best friend - take time to rekindle that friendship again.Originally posted by Turboface

I've been separated from my wife of 14 years for the last 1.5 years, tomorrow we're going on our first date and having a long talk about things, sometimes a bit of time away is good to reflect on things..for me it was feeling like losing a twinOriginally posted by Trixxxia

Working together is damn tough when you have to deal with family issues/bills/kids/meetings/schools and all the other stuff that gets thrown into the pot. Time away from eachother can usually soften things up while still together (each gets their 'own' time) but when it starts infecting the relationship to the point where you can't digest eachother, you need a break to find yourself and put things back into perspective.Originally posted by Ironhorse

I can't imagine being without my husband - it would be removing the spine from one's body - can't really function properly without it. He's my moral support, my biggest fan, my biggest compliment - wouldn't trade him in if my life depended on it.

u suck because u married her, u obviously knew her long enough to know she is to big of a bitch to marry and spend more than 1 hour with let alone be wiht forever. u should b desperate because u will spend the next year thinking of wat went wrong and how you could have made up for a "missunderstanding" between the 2 of u.
I FEEL YOUR PAIN.Comment

I don't know you... but I've been there, and I know the mixed emotions - they aren't over.
I was married for 16 years. It took three after the divorce to find someone, I lived with her for 4 years, and she passed away.
That was about 4 years ago.
All I can say is it just takes time, and a few friends.Comment

Best response of all.
Many separations don't end in divorce, but instead, in a better understanding of what you'd be giving up and how good you had it. You get time to see what an unbending jerk you were being and she gets time to see what a pissy bitch she was being.
Hopefully this is how it'll be for you guys; you'll come back together a little more humble and far more willing to be a team rather than two individuals living in the same house fighting for control.
Best of luck to you both.Comment
