Do you want to be buried? Cremated? What?

My mother just couldn't stand the idea of being in a casket for "eternity," so she asked to be cremated...we did and spread her ashes over her favorite fishing lake.

Me on the other hand....I kinda like the idea of a coffin...just don't want to be buried in a suit tho'..just seems uncomfortable...would rather they just let me go naked.

However I do want a t.v. in the lid and an ipod with a shitload of tunes...wonder if someone would actually do that for you? ;)

And oh yeah that KISS Casket would be a killer casket to be buried in.

if there are still are any usefull parts left after I've died I donate
them to people who are on the waiting list to receive organs.....
yes I'm serious....I've had this put in my will already......it also
says that they can only be donated to people on the waiting lists
in no way can they be sold by some rich dude that because he's
got money can skip the waitinglist......now that I think of it....I
might have this changed donated to some poor dude that couldn't
afford to pay insurance and would never be eligable for transplantation....all the stuff that's left......thrashcan!

The way I see it is.. I'll be dead. I won't really be aware of what happens to me at that point. I'd have to say I'd take the cheapest method.. I don't want my kids or who ever having to fork out tons of cash on taking care of my remains.

It all depends on how I'm going to die really..If I'm diagnosed with terminal cancer..I'm going to get so wasted and fly off a cliff in my vette...so there wont be any thing left to be burned or buried. But if I did die of natural causes...burn me up

I'm quite suprised that almost no one would offer remains for
donation.....I'm if you're dead your body to you is useless the
thought that the last thing your body will do is save 1 or a few
lives gives me a good feeling.....1000's of people who their life
depend on organs just because people who have died have either not thought about it and taken the necesary arrangements
These people that often die because they don't receive an donor
organ in time who else in most cases continue living a normal live
when they would have received a donor organ.....just for a second imagine if your on that list.......tick-tock time is ticking
away.....I have been on edge due to an accident after a fucking
long time I came out pretty ok considering my state when they
brought me in.......now in some way I'm glad it happened.....since
that time I started appreciating life and at the same time realising
that in a split second it can be over......and that such thing actually not only happen to other people.....it turned my life up
side down.....but now I think for the better.......if more people would donate organs......many lives would be saved.....1000's
of people die every year which could have been saved if more
donor organs would be available.......

Think about it for a minute......no matter what you decide things
like a will cannot be taken care too soon....coz when your time's
up other people will decide what will happen.....are you sure
they will arrange things the way you would have wanted?

A friend of mine recently participated in an exhumation of a corpse buried for a couple decades for DNA tests. He was amazed at how well preserved the body was. Except for the juice the oozed out of it. Like you said, the caskets are air tight, which slows down the decay process tremendously. He was previously planning on being buried, but changed his mind to cremation after seeing that.

I think had the original post mentioned organ donation more would have commented on it.

I personally see that doing it is a excellent thing. But if hospitals know that you're a organ donator.. would they actually do everything possible to save your life? Or just let you die so they can better use what you have?

That's just something I've always been curious about.

That's just something I've always been curious about.

That's something I don't worry about at all.....that's like would
the doctors do anything if you are brought 10 minutes before
he ends his shift?

Apart from that the medics that try to save your life are not the
ones perfoming the transplants......for them there is only one
task....saving yours....so I guess it's quite save to assume you
won't be left behind dying just to get your organs
