    background music for movies ... licenses?

    I want to add some background beats /tunes to my trailers..maybe even some metal..

    how does this work, are there companies who sell rights to use their music..sort of a crobis/getty images but then specialized in music

    most of the trailers are 20 secs or shorter...is there some sort of rule wich allows the use of small samples for free (i highly doubt it though)

          trust me dude, use royalty free stuff...don't waste your time...guaranteed the stuff you dig will not be licensed to porn...the second you ask and say you're in porn, no go.

          plus, even if it was non-porn, it costs MUCHO...that's why porn has always had historically bad tunes in the backround.

                              premeire 6.5, the editing software i use, has this built in library of music, and it's OK...yea, it's bad porn music, but some of it works...and it's free.

                              whatever you do, DON'T use pop tunes/your favorite music in your mpegs...a very popular teen site that I won't mention here has everything from Aerosmith to Joe Walsh as music...fastest way to get your ass sued --
