    EPassporte pros/cons

Since i cant get paid by paypal anymore because they dropped ARS's account. Would Epassporte be a good replacement? Do they send payment to canada? How are their fees? Etc

You can only fund your epassporte with another creditcard. A function to load it by a wiretransfer would be nice...

We're considering taking on Epassporte however I am skeptical of a few things.

                1. The rates, 6.85% Paypal only charges 2.9%

                2. The $100 set up fee.... I don't remember paypal charging me $100 to set this up

                3. The number of webmasters that actively use this service and the demand for it in the future.

Don't get me wrong I have nothing but respect for the founders and employees of this company. However for my particular business model I am curious to see if it will pan out. As we cannot afford to take large hits on processing fees when our margins are not that big to begin with.

For a non us webmaster using epassporte for payouts its very good.

I pay $40 a year for the virtual account and the Electron card.
I pay $2 per withdrawl at a ATM.

I don´t have to wait for the checks to arrive and save $12-15 per check in fees for cashing it.

I used my epassporte account for almost a year and I am very happy with it.

                          Pros:

                          - You can pull cash at just about every corner

                          - Epassporte's virtual visa works at many places where you don't need a physical card (i.e. online), i.e. at Amazon

                          BIG Con:

                          - AFAIK you cannot wire from your epassporte to your bank account. So you need to waste .. errr spend all your money with the virtual visa AND/OR pull all the cash from ATM machines.

Ok. So besides the $40 yearly fee. ARS charges you $2 for making a payment thru epassporte and then $2 when you withdraw the money from using the ATM. Although dont ATM's charge you like $1.00 anyways if you withdraw from one thats not your bank

Yep but you are paid in time, no more worries about paypal, no more waiting for clearing and exchanging checks with a fee which is much mre than epassporte fees.

sounds like the extra cost involved has some benefit then perhaps.

it does... I am using it for a while also and it rocks. Their support is top-notch and they visit the boards regularly.. they rock

And if your sponsor opens an account for you, there is no initial investment either.

We take Epassporte as payment for content, only problem once it's set up is few people use it. They have a long way to go getting people to join them.
