not really. they lube the tube up pretty good. its just a tad humiliating having to go through it. on my third surgery however, i woke up with one already done and had to go 2 days with it taped down. i can tell you it hurts very much when the nurse bumps into the tube. i kept warning hospital staff and visitors to watch out for the tube.
