Ya can't catch Bin Laden just before the election, that's too obvious. Whatcha gotta do is catch him BEFORE the fourth of July, or Memorial Day or Veteran's Day. Gotta be a holiday just after the capture.
Then, if your election is still shakey, you blow up your opponents just before or after the election and blame it on the terrorists plotting revenge so you stay in power til a new election can be held.

He was most probably drugged or something. Did you see the hole? It can't fit more than one soldier at a time. Do you really think that a soldier was gonna go down the tunnel and risk his life betting that Saddam won't see him first? Along the line of reasoning you guys are using...bin laden cannot be caught before the election occurs. If Bin Laden is caught do we give bush the presidency as a fucking reward? No. The idea would be to portray bush as VERY close to capturing Bin Laden as the election occurs, so that a change of leaders would be deemed as giving bin laden a "get out of Jail Free Card".
