        You were able to make peace with Egypt because of the US agreement to make Egypt the second biggest recipient of US aid.                                                 To keep the record straight, what happens in Israel is frequently decided by small religious parties selling their votes in return for concessions that no-one except their own supporters want. On occasion, both Likud and Labor have only be able to govern via such compromises.

                                                The reality is that Israeli opinion about the country's policy towards the Palestinians has been close to equally balanced for at least 20 years, swinging one way or the other usually for short periods. It is something Israelis can be proud of, that despite 50+ years of insecurity such as most of us will never know, so many of them retain a more balanced view than many outsiders seem capable of.

                                                        It's the same here( .au) and in many countries, coalitions between minor parties that can't get enough votes themselves to form government etc, the fact remains that once they're in you have no say and it's the lobby groups with the most power and influence that get their way, without external pressures.

Most of the horrors that have effected this planet during the reign of man have been caused in the name of god. Doesn't matter which god but if you don't believe in the right one of the moment and place you need to die.

                                                                                        No religion is innocent and religion has always been used as a tool of government to influence people and justify anything.

                                                                                        If there is a god, any god, he/ she / it would not want his / her /it's disciples to butcher in the name of god.

                                                                                        Get rid of god and we can just be secular and fight about resources and borders, something people can deal with and negotiate. Add the god factor and people become irrational.

Israel is a sovereign state, a democracy, ruled by the people, and has a right to ensure the security of it's citizens at any cost, because that's what a country is for - to provide security for it's people and to defend them from hostile forces such as terrorists. If that means banishing families of terrorists, then let it happen. I don't care what happens to the families of terrorists, they can all blow each other up shrivel and die, and get their bodies pissed on by pigs and horses.
