I am seriously considering to change my hosting company because of a repeated 2 hours outage in less than 24 hours and non satisfactory response from the tech guys (If you cannot stop DDoS attacks on your network not related to my servers and are unable to distinguish a DDoS attack against your entire class C network and a given server only, then I think it's not a good place to be).
So, this is what I need:
1 dual xeon with hyperthreading at leasr 200 GB HD (could be 2 smaller HDs as long as the total GBs are over 200. I don't care if it's IDE or SCSI. In fact I prefer IDE that can do at least 47 MB running hdparm -t /dev/hdaX), 1 GB RAM or more, at least 1000 GB BW
2 celerons with at least 512 MB RAM and 40 GB HD (IDE HD please), at least 1000 GB BW per server
All the servers must have private network setup between them (2 net cards, one to the internet and the other to a private switch).
The BW must be shared. 3 servers= 3000 GB in total, so one only server could burn all the BW and the rest could burn nothing. As long as the total BW is less than 3000 GB all must be ok.
All the servers must have at least 10 IPs per machine or 30 IPs in total.
OR
If you can offer me a dual Xeon with hyperthreading and 2 or 3 HDs of 120 GB each one and 10 Mbps unmetered or 3000 GB BW + 2 GB RAM + 35 IPs in 3 stacks on different C class networks for less than $355 (or same price) per month you probably will get a new client.
In any case, I am paying $355 for the 3 servers with the abowe specs. Make me a good offer and I will bring my business with you. I do not need management services and the most I request is an ocassional reboot when I crash everything.
NO cpanel, NO plesk or other control pannel shit. A standard SuSE (prefered 9.0 professional) or RedHat install will do the work.
I prefer "good" network connections but I don't care much if it's Cogent as long as the speed is ok.
