I have the D70, you can do tons with this unit. I just checked ebay and there is a couple for 1000 bucks and comes with 2 lens.

One guy on there is selling his 3 month old D70 because its to much camera for him, the bid is at $950 right now

Konica Minolta Dimage A2 if you like it a bit smaller. has a great optical zoom and a nice anti-shake-mechanism.

and there are millions of video cams. like it cheap? buy a one-chip camera. like it better? look for a 3-chip model. mini-dv tape has still the best quality for small cameras, but the handling is more difficult than the ones with dvd burner. high-end would be something like Canon XM2 or Sony VX2100 - but if its just for internet clips you can also use a cam for 400 or 500 bucks.

I just purchased a Sony VX-2100 for video (I also owna Canon XL-1), and I like using the Canon Digital Rebel for stills. There are other more expensive camera bodies by Canon and Nikon, but they are all pretty big and unnecessarilly heavy.

For video get the Sony VX2100 if you you are doing run and gun type shooting. Most gonzo videos are shot with this camera which is good because often the camera guy is usually a total moron and has no clue about lighting. This camera is amazing in low light.

If you want a step up go with the Panasonic DVx100a The picture quality blows away the Sony but is not as good in full auto mode.

When you buy the Sony get a wide angle lens from Century Optics.

                                  true.

if your criteria is "best bang for the buck" and the camera is for website use, this would be my pick.

very beautiful, vivid saturated color, and ok for low light.
