Sure they bought a few players though trades/signings but they do have a nice young core of players. They have two up comming super stars in Zeterberg and Datsuk, not to mention 2 more promising stars in Hudler and GrigorenkoComment

Our team had 10 people out of the line up late last year and we had to play a lot of rookies and new lines. We have 5 major players out right now too and this is the first game we lost in a long time.
My most favorite player is Legace who was a back up of a back up in the beginning of the season and now he's considered to be a starting goalie.
So, as you can see we can play a good game with veterans and rookies.
I'm going to the Sharks vs Wings game on the 23rd and this time we better win ( last two times we lost ). I hate being one of the few Wings fans and getting booed by Sharks fans when leaving.Comment

how good where the wings back in the day before teams could buy players?? not saying they will be bad but they wont be on top or close every year like they are now...wings do have the highest payroll in the league and the proposed 38 mil salary cap they will have to cut half the budget...again I'm glad you guys are hockey fans

But I still think they'll do well, with or without this so called salary cap. (38mill seems kinda low <- rumors)

I grew up in Warren (a 'burb of Detroit) - I have an almost frightening love for the Red Wings (or any other Detroit team, yes - even the Tigers).
And for all you cry-babies whining about us buying stars - don't hate! They have to retire sometime, just deal with getting your asses handed to you for another 2-3 years and then we can get to that level playing you've dreamt about.
Finally, Nicky - how in gods name can you possibly even put the Av's as #2? Are you possibly a schizophrenic? Look into it.

I have said the same thing over each of the last 7 or 8 years. If Yzerman and the Goalie are 100% healthy (in this case CuJo), then we will be ther playing in June.
The injury bug is hurting us right now.
Does anybody have news on the Hatcher shoulder injury?Comment

Cujo is the only guy I don't like on the team. He will probably be the start goalie if he doesn't fuck up during the rest of the season. But as soon as he makes anybody nervous - Legace will take over. Legace is the man for us to win the cup!Comment
