for those investing in real estate, does this not sometime just freak you the fuck out (regardless of the numbers)?

location plays such a monster roll in real estate.

sometime it still freaks me out, no matter the numbers...

      Example:
      For a 3 bdrm rancher, 1.5 bath 1,500 sqft = $600 a month CDN rent in town
Go to victoria? Same thing = $1,400 a month

indeed.... here, even a 2 bedroom condo NOT on the beach can run you upwards of $2 mil.

it's painful to check back on stuff later on....

I was offered a chance to buy into some not-so-nice condos here a couple years ago, and at the time the 3 bedrooms were going for $160k. I passed it up. Today, (the same condos) the 2 bedrooms are going for $290k.

should have sold my soul to get one of those back then....

yup, thats the exact reason i live right on the border in detroit, if my house was a street over it would probably be worth an easy 25%+ more. its not any different of a neighborhood, but you're pretty much paying for the name. it would only be a concern to me if i had kids that were going to school.

definitely is crazy sometimes. Good thing about this biz is if you want to live a little out of the way and have a killer place its much easier to do so.
