My cat, the nutcase otherwise known as Jemmi, licks plastic. I don't know why but she will just go through these bouts where she is licking plastic bags, saran wrap or anyother kind of thin plastic.
However, she is also a smart cat. We live on the third floor and have a balcony. When it is warm out we let her out on the balcony and more often than not she is reluctant to come inside when I want to close the door. So, I started closing the door on her and waiting until she started crying to be let in. Then one day I am sitting watching tv and I see this little furry head pop up in the glass window of the door. Now, this windo is about four feet off the ground. I thought I imaged it and went back to watching tv. The next thing I know I hear a clunk, the door opens and Jemmi walks in the house. I couldn't figure it out so the next day I did the same thing and was sneaky and watched her from the upstairs window. Turns out she figured out that if she leaped into the air she could hang on (and I mean hanging by her paws) to the door handle (again 4 feet up) and that her body weight would push it down and open the door. Still highly amusing when we are in here and we see her leaping up past the window. Alteast I don't have to get up to let her in now. Luckily she hasn't figured out that she could do the same from inside to let herself out..yet.
p.s. I once read that the reason dogs eat poo is because they are lacking something in their diet. They do it to get nourisment from the waste. Atleast that is what I read. My childhood dog used to chew rocks from time to time. The vet said it helped with digestion. Animals usually have a reason for the things they do.
