I wish i could walk into air canada's president's office and PISS all over him and his desk.

First class to cancun.

on the way there - one layover. Both times I sat beside air canada employees. i asked them, they pointed out on both planes more than half of the people in 1st class were employees of air canada. Wonder why they're going bankrupt???

going home I had seat 2a. the stewardess asks me to move to 4d so a family can sit together - ok - no real difference in first class seats - so i move. they sit me beside someone's whinning crying 2 year old. better yet - it's a family of air canada employees - yep - flying free. I wasn't impressed.

it gets better. then i get redlined at customs - ok, that happens - and I'm late for my next plane. I get to it - no first class even though I've PAID full fair for it, and i get a MIDDLE seat at the VERY back of the FULL plane.

oh and guess who one of the 2 people I was sitting beside on the last plane was....yup - an air canada employee.
does ANYONE besides me ever pay for their flight with air canada?????????????????????

Sorry about the flight situation....that sucks. AirCanada's notorious incompetence coming to light once again. It's beyond me how it is that you paid for a first class ticket, made it to the plane on time, but that they had given away your seat.

For what it's worth...here's the contact info for AirCanada for Customer Solutions. Tell them that if they don't refund you the difference you're going to contact the Consumer Protection Agency. Complain your ass off....you can only send complaints by fax or mail.

Sleazy, I paid for a seat on an Air Canada flight and had no problems with the seating.
Of course they lost my luggage for 3.5 days and only gave me $100 credit, but that is a different matter

You lucky freakin bastard......they lost mine on the way down to the Vegas show last year (2003). Never saw it again and the max they'd compensate me was only about 1/3 the value of what was in the bag. Oh....and that took about 4 months....

I had a cousin that worked for Air Canada, and she told me that employees can fly anywhere AC flies to for a flat rate of $19.00

Yet, I want a fucking flight from Ottawa to Toronto and it's $700.00 return. yeahh...
Ive never been on AC flight that was not delayed.

That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Giving preference to employees and their family versus a paying first class customer? Absolutely absurd. No wonder they're in horrible shape business-wise.

PS: Sleazy, definitely go after them for the leg of the flight that was not first class. You paid a significant premium for that luxury and you got deprived of it. It's your right to get it back.

I don't understand why your bitching...again.

So, a few employees are the flight...are they not aloud to go on vacation?? They have to fly stand-by and if the plane is full with only a few remaining open seats they get placed in them, being buisness class (Air Canada doesn't have first class, they may on 747's) or coach. Employees also don't fly for free...they get a crazy discount but it's not free, they pay by the kilometre and the taxes which is then automatically pay roll deducted.

Air Canada is surely a Monopoly and is having major finacial problems but the government will never shut down (the only) a national carrier.

The only thing I can understand why you'd be mad is the part when you said you arrived late to the flight because of customs (not the airlines fault) and they gave your seat away, if it happened like that. You have the right to find out if there are any employees in buisness class and you can bump them to the back of the plane.

All said in done, suck it up and quite your bitchin'.

so take the bus . . . . every country has import duties as far as I know, and you have been spoiled by the lack of security at US airports in the past. Learn to adapt, or stay home . . . or better yet, move. I am sure Israeli airports have very lax security precautions there

Every country has them but the Canadian ones are the ones charging me when I get back from vacation.

Why should I learn to adapt? They're the ones who'll be loosing money. I'm just gonna have to stay in the country as long as there's nothing urgent for me to travel to and take the train if I wanna travel to another province.
